Managing Automated Journey Steps
LeadsWithDemos gives you full control over every step in your automated journeys, making it easy to build, organize, test, and adjust your email automation workflows as your needs evolve. This Includes:
Deleting a Step in Automated Journeys
In your LeadsWithDemos site, you can easily remove any step from your automated journey when it’s no longer needed. This helps keep your workflows clean and relevant, making your automated sequences easier to manage and update as your strategy evolves.
- Each step in your journey, such as “Assign Tags” or “Send an Email,” displays a delete icon.
- To delete a step, simply click the delete icon on the step you wish to remove.
- After clicking the delete icon, a confirmation dialog will appear asking, “Are you sure you want to delete this step?”
- Click Delete to permanently remove the step from your journey, or select Cancel if you decide to keep it.
Journey Step Number
In LeadsWithDemos automated journeys, each step is assigned a unique Journey Step Number, displayed at the top left of every step block (for example, “3”, “4”, “5” as shown in the image below). This number indicates a step’s position in the journey sequence.
- The Journey Step Number is automatically assigned and updates in real time as you add, remove, or reorder steps in your automation flow.
- This numbering always reflects the current order of your workflow, helping you track the sequence of actions as your automated journey evolves.
Dragging and Dropping Steps
The Dragging and Dropping Steps feature allows you to easily reorder steps within your automated journey. This intuitive functionality gives you full control over the sequence in which actions occur in your workflow.
- Each step block in your journey displays a dedicated drag handle (represented by a grid or dots) on the left side.
- To reorder steps, simply click and hold the drag handle on the step you want to move, then drag it to the desired position within the journey.
- As you move a step, the workflow will visually update, making it clear where the step will be placed.
- Once you release the step, its position is updated instantly, and the Journey Step Numbers are automatically refreshed to reflect the new order.
Testing Automated Journey Steps
The Testing Automated Journey Steps feature lets you simulate your entire workflow before publishing your automation. This ensures every part of your journey performs as intended, helping you catch issues early and deliver a seamless subscriber experience.
How It Works
- Access the Test Feature:
Click the “Test Journey” button at the top of the journey builder. This opens a test panel on the right side of your screen. - Select a Lead to Test:
Choose a lead (subscriber) from the dropdown provided. You can test how real data will affect each step of your journey. - Skip Trigger Criteria (Optional):
Enable “Skip trigger criteria” if you want to start testing from the first step, regardless of enrollment filters. - Start the Test:
Click “Start test” to begin an automatic simulation. LeadsWithDemos walks through your automated journey step by step, using your selected subscriber’s data and providing live updates for each action such as triggers, delays, AI-generated emails, sending standard emails, and assigning tags (depending on the steps you have added to the automated journey). - Review Step Results:
As each step is processed, you see a detailed log on the right, including timestamps and the outcome of every action taken. If the journey completes without errors, you receive a success message with a summary and the time taken. - Iterate as Needed:
Rerun tests with different subscribers or configurations until you are confident every step—from enrollment to the final action—works as intended.
