FAQs
Does email verification slow down my forms?
Email quality verification is designed for low latency and runs as soon as the reader submits their information. Feedback appears instantly and inline. During the email verification process, you can control whether to allow or block submissions, so your conversion flow isn’t disrupted.
For email quality verification, do I still need double opt-in?
Verification helps reduce bad data right at the source. While double opt-in is not currently supported in LeadsWithDemos, using email quality verification before email addresses reach your database already filters out invalid, disposable, or risky addresses at signup.
This keeps your list clean and protects your sender reputation. For most food bloggers and creators, this greatly reduces the need for double opt-in, as common issues such as fake signups or incorrect addresses are handled automatically.
Can I block free domains like gmail.com?
Yes, you can block free domains like gmail.com with LeadsWithDemos. The platform gives you the “Free Email” filter, which can segment or filter out leads that use email addresses from free providers such as Gmail, Yahoo, or Outlook.
You can apply this filtering either during the intake process (to prevent such domains from submitting your forms) or later in your lead management by filtering subscribers based on their email domain.
How do you handle catch-all email domains?
LeadsWithDemos automatically analyzes and categorizes each email address, including detection of “risky” emails, which covers catch-all domains. A catch-all email domain is a domain that accepts all emails sent to any address at that domain, regardless of whether that specific mailbox exists. When an email is flagged as “risky,” this means it may belong to a catch-all domain, have a full inbox, or have uncertain validity, making reliable delivery less certain.
These “risky” emails are marked accordingly in your lead management dashboard, allowing you to segment or review them before outreach. This helps you maintain higher delivery rates and cleaner lists, as you can filter or take action on leads originating from catch-all domains.
What if the email verification service is temporarily unavailable?
If the email verification service is temporarily unavailable, LeadsWithDemos will categorize the affected emails as “Unknown.” This status occurs when the verification check cannot determine the state of an email due to issues on the recipient server or temporary technical limitations. Subscribers with “Unknown” status may require retesting or further validation at a later time. This ensures that you are aware of leads whose email validity could not be immediately confirmed rather than losing or misclassifying valuable subscriber data.
You can filter and manage these “Unknown” leads in your dashboard as needed for later follow-up or re-verification once the service is restored.
Can I customize the email verification error and hint messages?
Currently, the email verification error messages are fixed and cannot be customized at this time.
Do you store email verification data?
Yes, LeadsWithDemos stores email verification data as part of each subscriber’s profile. The system automatically analyzes email addresses at the time of submission and records the “Email Validity State,” which includes states such as Deliverable, Undeliverable, Risky, Unknown, or Duplicate. This verification information is retained in your LeadsWithDemos dashboard, allowing you to segment, filter, or manage your leads based on their email verification status.
You can view and act on this verification data in the leads management sections of the platform, and the data is persistent for ongoing list hygiene and campaign targeting.
Does the email verification work on popups and forms?
Yes, email verification works on both popups and forms in LeadsWithDemos. When setting up your email capture campaigns, you can choose popups and forms as your lead capture source, and then implement a variety of email quality verification strategies directly within them.
These options include transactional email confirmation, rejecting disposable or free email addresses, correcting typos, and more. All of these verification features are integrated into the popups and forms builder, ensuring high-quality email capture at the point of entry.
