How to Set Popup and Form Display Rules in LeadsWithDemos

Short Answer

Use the selected asset's settings flow to control when, where, how often, and on which devices a popup/form asset can appear. Popup boxes, sticky banners, and slide-ins can use trigger and frequency settings, while embedded forms use a different targeting and settings flow.

Before You Start

You must be signed in, have access to the selected site, and have permission to update popup/form assets.

The asset must already exist. If you have not created or copied it yet, first create a popup or form asset. If the asset content is not ready yet, design the popup or form asset before finalizing display rules.

If you are not already inside the right site, open the site from My sites, then go to Popup & Forms.

Settings vary by asset type. Do not expect popup boxes, sticky banners, slide-ins, and embedded forms to show identical controls.

Steps

  1. Go to My sites, open the site you want to work on, then select Popup & Forms in the site area.
  2. Open the settings flow for the popup/form asset. If you just created a new asset, LeadsWithDemos opens this flow after Continue.
  3. On Targeting, review When to display it for non-embedded assets. Popup boxes can use a button-click trigger, and non-embedded assets can also use trigger options such as page scroll, exit intent, loading delay, and inactivity.
  4. Configure Where to display it and Where not to display it. Use Add Rule when you need page or URL display targeting rules.
  5. Configure Who to display it to and Who not to display it to when you need visitor filters. The settings can include options such as All Visitors, Filtered Visitors, and None.
  6. For popup boxes, sticky banners, and slide-ins, review How often to display it and Frequency. Embedded forms do not use these non-embedded frequency controls.
  7. Choose the device targeting for Desktop, Tablet, and Phone.
  8. Continue to Settings and use Custom JavaScript only when an advanced script is needed.
  9. Select Finish to save the settings, then wait for the success message.
  10. Use Preview from the asset list when you are ready to review the saved asset.

Important Notes

Embedded forms are different from popup boxes, sticky banners, and slide-ins. They use a targeting and settings flow and do not show the same non-embedded trigger or frequency controls.

Trigger settings decide when a non-embedded asset appears. Display targeting decides where and to whom the asset appears. Frequency controls how often a non-embedded asset can reappear. Device targeting decides whether the asset can appear on desktop, tablet, phone, or multiple devices.

Custom JavaScript is an advanced setting stored with the popup/form asset. The approved source confirms that the setting can be stored, but it does not confirm validation, sanitization, sandboxing, or safety guarantees.

Configuring display rules does not launch or activate a campaign. Campaign setup, campaign activation, public subscriber capture, visitor tracking, impressions, and selecting a campaign lead source are separate workflows.
